This rare and fabulous pair of hand carved banded agate French heeled shoes have been in one of my cupboards for decades. I often sort and ponder over my bits and pieces for inspiration, and this time when I looked at these little shoes I decided the best way of showing their whimsical personality was to suspend them from the ends of a long supple chain. The rolling links of the recycled gold filled chain lends itself perfectly to knotting and looping, and allows you to wear this fun necklace in several ways. The shoes appear to dance on the ends of the chain. The shoes date from circa 1860.

I love using vintage findings, and am thrilled by the discovery of just the right split ring or hook for a piece.
